Never Heard That One Before

As long as I can remember, people have been asking me if my mother was a big fan of Billy Squier. It doesn’t always play out exactly that way; there are several variations, most of the time involving the song “The Stroke”. It doesn’t bother me really because except for one segment on The Alan Cox Show (Alan and Chad Zumock acted like I was Billy Squier for an entire break on their show) most of these interactions are over in a matter of seconds.

The more I listen Billy Squier’s music, though, the more I like it. Well some of it. “Lonely is the Night” is a catchy song.

He isn’t exactly Shakespeare. “Lonely is the night when you find yourself alone.” That is some deep shit, Billy. He should have had multiple follow-ups to this song.

“Scary is the night when you find your self ascared.”

“Cold is the night when you find your self acold”

“Crowded is the night when you find your self not alone”

There is one thing Billy Squier can hang his hat on forever. He wrote the most popular song about hand jobs of all time.

Pure Poetry.

If you are wondering what happened to Billy Squier, from what I can tell he is still out doing it. He did a tour a few years ago, I believe opening for Styx.

There is no explanation for how amazing the video for “Rock Me Tonite” is.

No that wasn’t a parody or the opening of a gay porno. That was Billy Squier bringing the fucking heat.

I’d really like to do a reality show with Billy Squier where we go on tour together. It’d be called “Bill and Billy’s Stroke Force!”

When it is all said and done there are a lot worse people I could share a name with.

Classic.

Thanks for another lovely week folks. Have good day and if you haven’t already like my facebook page, follow me on twitter, and buy my album sarcasm bus on iTunes. The links are all below.
