Thursday List: The Real Island of Misfit Toys

I watched Rudolph with one of my kids the other day and it reminded me of the island of misfit toys. I thought not long and not hard but enough to come up with my own list of real misfit toys.

NUMBER FIVE: MEGA BLOCKS
Marketing people really know how to make the competition look like a shitty piece of garbage. As a kid I loved legos however I wouldn’t be caught dead with mega blocks. As far as I am concerned mega blocks are only good for melting and throwing them at your sister leaving crazy ass burn marks on her arms.

NUMBER FOUR: BLACK BARBIE

I had a sister that had millions of Barbies and she never had any black Barbies. I don’t think it was her choice but some sort of subliminal message my parents were trying to send.

NUMBER THREE: TURBO GRAFFIX 16

I got a turbo graffix 16 for christmas one year and I loved it. I was probably the only one. I still haven’t met another person that owned one of these machines. It wasn’t even a bad system Bonk’s Adventure was one of the best games I ever played and the first game that gave me a panic attack. TG 16 isn’t the only failed system I owned. I also had a Dreamcast and Jaguar.

NUMBER TWO: GOBOTS
Gobots have long been joked about as being the poor kids Transformers because that is exactly what they were. They were small they didn’t have cool weapons and they broke a lot. Nothing made you feel like more of a piece of shit than when a friend would come over and you’d try and pass of Gobots as real Transformers.

NUMBER ONE: ANY G.I. JOE KNOCK OFF

G.I. JOE’s from the 80′s were the greatest action figures ever. The way you could move them was amazing. I always loved my G.I. Joe’s but I hated anything that wasn’t. G.I. Joe’s were like 3 or 4 bucks shell out the money and get me a quality toy don’t get me some immobile piece of crap cause it only cost $1. If I opened a present that looked like the picture below when I was a kid I would have thought 1 of 2 things Santa hates my guts or Santa is gay as shit. These things were everywhere and there were innumerable versions of them and they were all horrible.
